The Mel-Tones
Mel Tormé was introduced to a young vocal group "The School Kids" in 1943. This group changed their name to "The Mel-Tones" later.

Born in Chicago on September 25, 1925. Began career of professional singer at four years old. Won the Grammy for best male vocalist in 1982 and 1983. Died in Los Angeles on June 5, 1999.
